Lecture Program
Each week in the Lecture Series will consist of:
- One online video that introduces each concept in 15-30 minutes
- One virtual meeting to review the material covered in the lecture video and guide you through a programming project
- One optional ‘office hours’ when instructors will be available to answer questions about the projects or material and help debug code
- We will be exploring the Python programming language. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to create your own video games, each of which will incorporate the ideas that are covered in the week’s lecture video. We will walk you through all the steps until you are able to write one completely on your own, from scratch.
Capstone Project / Competition
At the end of the Lecture Series, you will have the opportunity to work with a partner on a capstone project that you will design. You will have 6 weeks to work on the project and create a presentation. At the end, you will have the opportunity to present your hard work to the rest of the group and have the chance to win prizes.
If you want to work with someone in particular, be sure to request them in your application and tell them to do the same!
Registration for the club starts Nov 15 and ends on Dec 5 2020. Late registration after Dec 5 2020 will depend on availability. More info at https://www.yallcode.org.
