Western Science Center Summer Camps

Our popular summer camps are back! These hands-on camps give students the opportunity to learn about art, science, and nature from our team of educators in a museum setting.

PRICING

WSC Members: $130 per camp
Non-Members: $150 per camp

SCHEDULING

Unless otherwise noted, each camp runs Monday - Thursday.
AM Session: 9AM - 12PM
PM Session: 12:30PM - 3:30PM

LUNCH SUPERVISION

The Western Science Center is offering a supervised lunchtime for campers signed up for both morning and afternoon camps in the same week session. Supervised lunchtime is $2 each per camper, per day. Camper must bring their own lunch.

Lunchtime: Noon - 12:30PM

Registration for the supervised lunchtime program is required at least two weeks before start of camp.

 

Camps

June 24th - 27th

- Small Hands: For campers entering grades K - 1st. A perfect camp for the curious young scientist! Each day campers will explore science through hands-on experiments, crafts, stories and games. 

- Know Your Systems: For campers entering grades 5th - 8th. Learn about many of your body systems through engaging activities and by dissecting a fetal pig!

July 1st - 3rd

- Molding & Casting: For campers entering grades 5th - 8th. In this mini-camp you will learn how to create replica fossils by making your own mold, then casting and painting your fossil!
- Time Traveler's Camp: For campers entering entering grades 1st - 3rd. This special mini-camp is 3 days of fun for all Jr. Time Travelers! Come and explore different cultures throughout time and space with crafts, games, food and fun.
- Rocks Rock!: For campers entering entering grades 3rd - 5th. Have a rockin’ good time learning about earth, rocks and the stories they can tell us with this special mini-camp!

 

July 8th - 11th

- Sci Explorers: For campers entering entering grades 1st - 3rd. Explore and discover the fun of science with this camp! Young scientists will explore different science themes through hands-on activities and fun experiments.
- Wild in California: For campers entering grades 1st - 3rd. Learn about how plants and animals thrive in the wide variety of terrains found in Southern California in this new camp!

 

July 15th - 18th

- Camp it Yourself: For campers entering entering grades 3rd - 5th. A hands on camp for those who want to create, build, and fix. Learn the basics of tool safety, how to make use of plans, and get to make crafts to bring home and show off!
- Fandom Science: For campers entering grades 3rd - 5th. Celebrate some of your favorite fandoms through science and engineering activities!

 

July 22nd - 25th

- Messy Hands: For campers entering grades 1st - 3rd. Don’t try this at home! Or maybe your parents would just prefer you don’t try it there. Now’s the chance to try those messes and let us worry about the cleanup.
- JR. Engineering: For campers entering grades 1st - 3rd. Design, build and create with this fun camp! Jr. Engineers will discover the science behind different fields of engineering through hands-on activities and engineering challenges.
