The computer world continues to evolve and as school districts elevate their computer curriculum, Cal Poly Pomona responds with a redeveloped camp designed to push campers even further. We now implement Alice as our primary programming software, in order for campers to develop more complicated apps, worlds and animations. Campers will also utilize Autodesk software to produce 3D printable objects. Campers can look forward to scanning objects and meshing them into different forms or using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software to build objects from scratch. Campers will be able to take home a fabrication of their own design and production. |

The Cal Poly Pomona Robotics camp has evolved its curriculum to use the most popular robotics learning system in the world, VEX Robotics. Along with its advanced, but learning-friendly programming software, VEXcode, our robotics camp teaches campers how to program using logic and object-oriented programming to control robot behavior. VEXcode gives the campers the flexibility to program using Block coding (Object Oriented programming) or actual C++ and Python programming languages. Beginners become comfortable using Block code while more advanced camp participants can opt for text coding, pushing campers at any level to learn programming. VEXcode requires a stronger understanding of math and logic than the traditional Lego education software used in the past. With VEX robotics, students will learn to command robot behavior, advanced programming and subroutine capabilities. |
