In response to parental demand, we are now offering our live animals, crafts & projects camp for campers 5-7 years old. Otherwise known as our Imagination Camps, our activities allow campers to explore their creativity, while developing their social skills. Imagination camps provide campers with an inclusive environment where they can foster positive relationships, increase camper self-esteem in social settings, and promote inventiveness by stimulating their imagination. The Cal Poly Pomona Robotics camp has evolved its curriculum to use the most popular robotics learning system in the world, VEX Robotics. Along with its advanced, but learning-friendly programming software, VEXcode, our robotics camp teaches campers how to program using logic and object-oriented programming to control robot behavior. VEXcode gives the campers the flexibility to program using Block coding (Object Oriented programming) or actual C++ and Python programming languages. Beginners become comfortable using Block code while more advanced camp participants can opt for text coding, pushing campers at any level to learn programming. VEXcode requires a stronger understanding of math and logic than the traditional Lego education software used in the past. With VEX robotics, students will learn to command robot behavior, advanced programming and subroutine capabilities.
